Collection of E-Waste from Various Sectors
Kerala-LoGE is launching an extensive e-waste collection initiative to address the growing problem of electronic waste disposal in Kerala. This project focuses on collecting e-waste from Government Offices, Educational Institutions, Industrial Estates, Private Entities, and households, ensuring proper recycling and disposal in compliance with environmental regulations.
Through this initiative, Kerala-LoGE will establish dedicated collection centers and work with certified e-waste recyclers to safely process discarded electronic items such as computers, mobile phones, printers, batteries, and other obsolete devices. Special collection drives will be organized to facilitate the easy disposal of e-waste by individuals and institutions.
To encourage active participation, Kerala-LoGE will offer financial remuneration to contributors based on the type and quantity of e-waste provided. This incentivized approach will not only promote responsible e-waste disposal but also generate additional income opportunities for individuals and organizations.
Key benefits of the project:
- Environmental Protection: Prevents toxic substances from entering the soil and water, reducing pollution and ecological damage.
- Resource Recovery: Enables the extraction of valuable materials such as copper, gold, and aluminum for reuse in manufacturing industries.
- Public Awareness: Encourages responsible disposal habits among individuals, institutions, and businesses.
- Employment Generation: Creates new job opportunities in e-waste collection, segregation, and recycling sectors.
By implementing this project, Kerala-LoGE aims to establish a robust and sustainable e-waste management system in Kerala, aligning with global best practices and contributing to a circular economy.
