Establishment of E-Waste Recycling Facility

Kerala-LoGE is embarking on a large-scale initiative to establish an advanced e-waste recycling facility in Kerala. The project will begin with the establishment of an e-waste dismantling facility, which will focus on efficiently breaking down and sorting electronic waste components. Over time, the facility will be upgraded into a full-fledged e-waste recycling plant to extract valuable materials and responsibly dispose of hazardous elements.

Kerala-LoGE will collaborate with government agencies, corporate entities, and technology partners to ensure efficient and compliant e-waste management. The project will also include awareness campaigns to educate businesses and the public on the importance of responsible e-waste disposal. This facility will significantly contribute to reducing Kerala’s e-waste burden while generating additional revenue streams for sustainable industrial development.

Key benefits of the project:

  • Enhance Resource Recovery: Extract reusable metals, plastics, and rare earth elements from discarded electronics, reducing dependence on virgin raw materials.
  • Ensure Environmental Protection: Prevent improper disposal of toxic e-waste, thereby reducing soil, water, and air pollution.
  • Generate Employment Opportunities: Create jobs in e-waste collection, dismantling, and processing, benefiting local communities.
  • Promote Circular Economy: Encourage sustainable practices by reintegrating recovered materials into the manufacturing sector.
