Collection of Household Bio-Medical Waste
Kerala-LoGE is taking a significant step toward sustainable waste management by establishing plastic recycling units across Kerala. This project aims to ensure that segregated plastics are recycled within the state, transforming waste into valuable new products while generating employment opportunities.
The initiative will involve setting up multiple plastic recycling units equipped with advanced processing technology to handle different types of plastics, including PET, HDPE, LDPE, and multi-layered plastics (MLP). These facilities will convert plastic waste into reusable raw materials such as plastic granules, pellets, and new consumer products.
Kerala-LoGE will collaborate with Haritha Karma Sena (HKS), waste collection agencies, local government bodies, and private enterprises to ensure a steady supply of segregated plastic waste. Additionally, awareness programs will be conducted to educate communities and businesses on the importance of responsible plastic disposal and recycling.
By implementing this project, Kerala-LoGE aims to establish a sustainable and profitable plastic recycling ecosystem that not only addresses environmental concerns but also contributes to economic growth and industrial development in Kerala.
Key benefits of the project:
- Reducing Plastic Pollution: Diverting plastic waste from landfills and waterways, contributing to a cleaner environment.
- Promoting Circular Economy: Encouraging the reintegration of recycled plastics into the production cycle, reducing the demand for virgin plastic.
- Enhancing Employment Opportunities: Creating jobs in collection, sorting, processing, and manufacturing sectors.
- Supporting Local Enterprises: Providing raw materials for local industries, thereby strengthening the regional economy.
